After 10 successful years in full-time evangelism the Lord led Bro. Locke to start Global Vision in the very area where he grew up. On November 5, 2006 the first service was held at the McGavock High School auditorium. For the next fourteen months, the church had fifteen meeting places including the one they have renovated into their home while the new facility is under construction. The church has faced overwhelming odds and opposition from many. However, GVBC has grown into a strong young church. The growth has not been astronomical, but it has been very steady. There is hardly a Sunday that comes and goes without someone joining the church, getting saved or being baptized. But, it is also important to note that ALL members must go through an intensive 1 1/2 hour Membership Class called the Pastor's Connection Dinner. The course is taught by Pastor Locke and it is very straightfoward on doctrine, philosophy and standards of conduct. It can be downloaded on our video page.  
GVBC has paid cash for 8 1/2 acres of prime property which is located about 12 miles East of the International airport. They were also GIVEN an entire 25,000 sq. ft. building that has been moved to the land and is now under major reconstruction. The church also has a great impact in the Hispanic community. 
 
Global Vision Baptist Church is an Independent, Fundamental Church that strongly holds to the Expositional preaching of God's Word. The church is fervent in soul-winning and there is no doubt that God is doing a great work in the lives of so many in this new church.
